“It is time to put an end to the profiteering, recklessness and irresponsibility of the Class One Carriers. Let railroad workers take the lead- a fresh beginning for a vibrant, expanding and innovative national rail industry to properly handle the nation’s freight and passengers in the 21st century.”

Take action on these two issues now!
Public Rail Now (PRN) is dedicated to advancing public rail ownership, worker solidarity, and a democratic, equitable transportation system that serves the public good.

We advocate for policies that prioritize workers, passengers, and communities over private profit, ensuring that rail transportation serves the public good. PRN seeks to educate the public, mobilize support, and drive systemic change in the rail industry.

We envision a rail system that is publicly owned, efficiently managed, and accountable to the people. A system that:

  • Prioritizes safety, reliability, and accessibility for both freight and passenger rail.
  • Strengthens organized labor and empowers railroad workers.
  • Reduces environmental harm by shifting freight and passengers from roads to rail.
  • Reinforces local economies by ensuring fair rates and service standards.
